More Layoffs At THQ Today

THQ is continuing to make cuts. The publisher confirmed it saw layoffs today that stems from the recent organizational shift yesterday that saw THQ drop its kids' licenses titles.

“THQ confirms a reduction in force to the company’s administration and publishing organization," the publisher said in a statement sent to Game Informer. "As recently announced, the company is exiting the kids’ licensed games category, and is focusing on its core game franchises and developing its digital initiatives.

"The streamlined organization reflects the company’s new strategy. THQ’s five internal studios were not affected by this action."

THQ said it will provide more detail about its reorganization on a conference call on February 2. The publisher did not offer clarity on the number of people let go today.

In December, THQ cut 30 people from its uDraw team.
