Let’s make everyone who bought the FFXIII bundle feel really stupid… …
Yet to give Futuremark’s vertigo-inducing Shattered Horizon a try? Quite good news then: the 360 degree PC space shooter will be free to play this weekend.
Sega is jumping on the 3D bandwagon. The extra dimension is to be the next big thing in gaming, the company’s head of entertainment Naoya Tsurumi believes. “I believe 3D will become a big wave,” he told Nikkei Trendy in an ‘keyman’ interview series, as translated by Andriasang .
Don’t leave your StarCraft II beta client to collect virtual dust just yet, Blizzard has announced on the Battle.net forums that the beta for the upcoming RTS has been extended to June 7, as opposed to its originally scheduled May 31 shutdown. After this date, the beta test will be unavailable for several weeks while we make some hardware and software configuration changes for the final phase of the beta test and the release of the game,” the announcement mentions
Harmonix has come one step closer to making my dream of Sousaphone Hero a reality by teasing the addition of ivory tickling to Rock Band 3 . If the above screen grab from the end of Xbox Live’s recently released Green Day: Rock Band demo is any indication , all future iterations of the plastic peripheral-heavy franchise will now allow for the addition of a keyboard player alongside your guitarist, bassist, drummer and three-part harmonizing singers. No word on whether the new controller will lean more towards piano, keyboard or fingers crossed, keytar in terms of its design.
During the latest Bonus Round – featuring the always well-dressed industry analyst Michael Pachter – there was a lot of talk and focus on E3, Sony and Move. As for the hardware figures, they present a fairly familiar image.
You would think that having created some of the world’s most recognizable franchises should have Japanese game designer Shigeru Miyamoto feeling satisfied with his accomplishments, especially after grabbing a lifetime achievement award at the BAFTAs last month. However, the legend himself doesn’t really see it that way, telling GamesTM that his “best is yet to come.” “In the past five years I’ve been working on such unusual titles like Wii Fit Plus and Wii Sports Resort . Ten years ago I could never have been able to imagine that I would be making games like that. That’s why I can say that the best is yet to come to me.” When asked about upcoming hardware from Nintendo, more specifically, a Wii HD, Miyamoto responded that “technology is always evolving and Nintendo, just like other companies, is going to integrate those technologies into our new products as they develop.” Sadly enough, he wouldn’t comment on whether the console would be a Wii HD, Wii 2 or whatever else Nintendo might be working on, and avoided the question with a polite ”I am not in a position to say at the moment.”
