11 Announcements We Want To See At E3 This Year

E3 is almost here, looming large on the horizon with only a couple more weeks to go, and with such a short time left, we’ve all started speculating as to what announcements we will be seeing during the conferences. Will we finally see some of the big announcements we’ve been waiting for? Half-Life 3? The next Mario game? Uncharted 4? Or will we see something entirely unexpected? Something we’ve never seen before?

Compiled below is a list of 11 games we want to see this year at E3. Tell us which games you want to see in your comments below.

Batman: Arkham 3

With the Batman: Arkham franchise having seen so much success recently and Arkham City having performed admirably well, both critically and commercially, there is a huge possibility that Rocksteady might unveil the next Batman: Arkham game at E3 next year with a release date of late 2013. It’s certainly something we want to see, and it doesn’t sound hugely inconceivable either, so keep you eyes peeled for this announcement.

Dragon Age 3

BioWare has been talking about a third Dragon Age game for a long time, and it’s more or less a known fact that Dragon Age 3 will be released in 2013. We expect to see an official reveal at E3 this year, with BioWare also giving us some much wanted details. Hopefully, Dragon Age 3 will do what DA2 couldn’t- please everyone. If it’s a perfect cross between the awesomeness of DA: Origins and the few merely decent aspects in DA2, we might just have an awesome RPG on our hands.

Metroid Next

We haven’t had a Metroid game since 2009′s rather forgettable Metroid: Other M, and not a single good Metroid game since 2007′s Metroid Prime 3. Nintendo has been awfully quiet about the series these past three years, and perhaps it’s time to give us another proper Metroid announcement. Maybe as a launch title for the Wii U? Maybe a side scroller for the 3DS (that would be great)? Whichever one it is, we just want a new Metroid game, and hopefully, Nintendo will be announcing one next month.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 With 250GB Xbox 360 Giveaway

Activision and Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 isn’t set for release until November 13th this fall. However, GameStop is giving a lucky gamer the opportunity to not only have a copy of the game reserved and sent to them free of charge when it releases, but they’re also tossing in a free 250 gigabyte Xbox 360.

Announced at the start of May, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 boasts a new kind of gameplay environment for the Call of Duty franchise, taking the famed first-person shooter into the far future where gamers will have to compete against a foe that also utilizes some of the most cutting-edge military technology ever featured in a video game.

As usual, the debut trailer for Black Ops 2 was filled with tension, plenty of explosive moments and tons of anarchy. For everyone who was looking for something different out of the series, this game seems to be that differentiation.

The game is set for release this fall for home consoles and PC, but this giveaway is specifically for the Xbox 360 version of the game since it comes with an Xbox 360.

Back then, the ‘hog offered unparalleled speed and spectacle, a direct response to the comparatively sluggish Mario, but he’s now been superseded on both counts; meanwhile, his rival has smartly reinvented himself for the 3D age while Sonic Team has struggled.

Need for Speed Developers Working On PS Vita Game?

A job listing seemingly confirms that Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit developers Criterion Games are working on a PS Vita game, more details inside………

UK studio Criterion Games is apparently prepping a project for release on the PlayStation Vita. Superannuation spotted a job listing for a software engineer that at one point reportedly listed “optimising and tuning the game resource system for the PS Vita” as part of the position’s overview. The listing was seemingly altered since, as it now reads, “Optimizing and tuning the game resource system for other platforms.”

Aside from the bite-sized Burnout Crash launched on XBLA last year, Criterion Games has been rather quiet for the past couple years. The team’s last console release was the fantastic Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit in 2010, and many expect that the next Need for Speed entry will be handled once again by Criterion. We’ve yet to hear a peep from the studio in 2012, but E3 isn’t too far away.
