Splinter Cell: Conviction sells 1.8mil in a month

Another number to come out Ubisoft’s conference call today is 1.8 million, the number of copies its Montreal studio’s Splinter Cell: Conviction has shifted through since the worldwide debut just over a month ago. CEO Yves Guillemot says the company expects the re-invented shadow crawler to be big seller over the next three months as well and the main contributor to the fiscal year’s first quarter’s projected sales of ~$180 million.

PC’s Splinter Cell: Conviction patch adds DLC support

The PC version of Splinter Cell: Conviction has received a new patch (v1.02, direct link ), the notes for which indicate that Ubisoft is soon making downloadable content available to PC users to as well. The company’s been releasing free items like new weapons and outfits for free every Thursday since the console versions’ launch last month. And recently, there’s been talk of some additional, “ killer DLC ,” as well

Splinter Cell: Conviction’s digital bonuses available for download

Ubisoft’s chosen method for distributing the bonus materials in the Splinter Cell: Conviction collector’s edition , didn’t work out due to defective USB drives . Therefore, rather than hiding the bonuses inside a stealthy card-shaped disk, Ubisoft is taking the direct approach, allowing you to just download them yourself. Which means that those of you who bought the more expensive version saved $10 for the trouble of having to wait just a few days.
