Freeware Game Pick: Bennu (Once a Bird)

Originally an Xbox Live Indie Games title , Bennu is now available to download as a freeware title for Windows PC. You control a swinging bird’s head that can attach itself to the surrounding level and flip up to touch and remove coloured blocks. The idea is to fall into a flame, then touch all of the blocks of that colour. Every block must be cleared to progress. There’s also a two player co-op mode, in which each player has a specific colour and can only remove their blocks

Watch Paxton Fettel diminish his enemies into nothing

Despite F.E.A.R. 3 being delayed now a few times, developer Day 1 Studios keeps leaking media like blood from a bullet wound, and while the latest of which introduced us to cooperative play for the first time in the series, going solo isn’t always that bad, especially if you’re Paxton Fettel. Just look at him go, obliterating anyone who dares stand in his way. Have yourself be levitated and implode in the blink of an eye seems like such a quick and painless way to go, doesn’t it? F.E.A.R. 3 is now scheduled for a May 2011 release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC

The best defense is a good offense; Fight Night Champion tutorials

Looking forward to throwing some punches in the upcoming Fight Night Champion ? Let’s face it, addressing a well-deserved uppercut to a dude’s face is all satisfaction, assuming you know how to do that, of course. Should you not, taking a moment of your time to watch these “defense” (above) and “offense” (below) tutorials with the narration of gameplay producer Brian Hayes might not be such a bad idea. Lots of tips and tricks demo’ed by loads of gameplay footage, so pay attention unless you plan on getting your ass kicked, or, face reshaped… as it were. Fight Night Champion is scheduled for a worldwide release on March 1st, 2011 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

TDU2 dev diaries dig into sociability, weather, cars and building an open-world race ground

In a sudden realization that Test Drive Unlimited 2 will be hitting shelves very soon, Atari has let loose two new developer diaries in the last couple of days, the third and fourth of their kind. The first and second have already been covered. The one thing developer Eden wanted to expand on was the social aspect of the game. As you watch the video embedded above – diary number three – you’ll see the potential it has for massive online connectivity in a way not experienced in any racing game before. As for the fourth entry in the diary – embedded below – the devs talk about the night and day cycle and the addition of a complete weather system to it, something that won’t go unnoticed as you drive the meticulously designed cars all around the gorgeous environments of the game, which are also featured in the video. Test Drive Unlimited 2 is out tomorrow, Feb. 8th, in the US and on the 11th in EU on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC.
